The weekend of 15-16 May, all over the world, from Brussels to Johannesburg, via New York, Washington and London, citizens of all origins gathered to show their solidarity with the Palestinian people on the occasion of the 73rd commemoration of the Nakba, which refers to the consequences for the Palestinians of the occupation and colonization by Israel in 1948. This year, the Nakba, a day of commemoration but also and above all of resistance, has a special meaning while the Israeli army is bombing Palestinian civilians.

Solidarity and unity in the four corners of the country. From Liege to Antwerp via Brussels, Ghent, Charleroi, Genk, Ostend... Today, on the occasion of the International Day against Racism, 21 rallies took place in 14 Belgian cities. Citizens, associations, trade unions mobilised against racism and hatred at the call of the Platform 21 March. The PTB-PVDA and its youth movements, RedFox and Comac, were present with a message against the division of the working class. Peter Mertens, president of the PTB-PVDA, was present in Brussels. This is an important support to the international campaign calling on Members of Parliament to nominate Cuban doctors for this prestigious peace award.
