What energy in the streets of Brussels today !
More than 30,000 teachers, railway workers, firefighters, peace activists, and more : together we were there to say stop to the government of Bart De Wever (N-VA) and George-Louis Bouchez (MR) who want to attack our pensions.
The ‘Arizona’ parties (MR, Les Engagés, N-VA, Vooruit and CD&V, parties taking part in negotiations to form a federal government in Belgium) want to make us work until 67 for less pension. They also want to abolish part of the extra pay for night work, attack automatic wage indexation and freeze our wages.
On the other hand, they still have no plans for a tax on millionaires... And some politicians are pocketing pensions of over 8,000 euros. They're mocking us!
It's not up to the working class to pay for the crisis. We are stronger than we think and we will not give up. The unions and civil society will be mobilising again on 13 February.
