"European governments complicit in the war against Iran"

The attitude of European leaders towards the attack by the United States and Israel on Iran is shocking. Neither Ursula Von der Leyen, President of the European Commission, nor Kaja Kallas, the EU's "Foreign Minister", nor most European or Belgian leaders have condemned the attack. On the contrary, they have condemned Iran's response. A joint statement by the French, German and British governments even suggests that the Europeans would like to join this war of aggression in order to defend "their allies".

The same states that claimed a few weeks ago that Europe must be autonomous and independent from the United States are now bravely standing to attention behind the US imperialist aggression. Without any mandate, without any debate, they are even prepared to drag Europe into the spiral of war.

The same European states that are (rightly) denouncing the violation of international law in Ukraine are now justifying, even openly supporting, the total violation of international law by Trump's United States and its ally, the war criminal Benjamin Netayanhu.
The United Nations Charter is very clear: it formally prohibits the use of force against the territorial integrity or political independence of any state, and stipulates that disagreements between states must be resolved peacefully. In other words: you do not attack another state. This is a fundamental principle of international law. And we must continue to defend it.

Our comrades in the Tudeh Party of Iran, a left-wing party banned in Iran, whose activists have been imprisoned, tortured and killed by the current regime, rightly point out that military aggression is not aimed at liberating Iran but at destroying the country as a regional power and replacing the current regime with a dependent and despotic regime that is already planning a bloody crackdown on its opponents. Destroying Iran is no way to liberate the country, the party stresses. Who could possibly believe that the genocidal Netanyahu and Trump care about the fate of the Iranian people?

The United States bombed and destroyed Afghanistan, Iraq and Libya. In none of these countries did these attacks bring democracy or promote human rights. On the contrary. Today, Trump's war is plunging an entire region into chaos. Gas and oil prices are rising, with potentially significant economic impacts on people in Europe and around the world.
monde entier.

This war must end immediately. European governments must condemn it and demand that Trump and Netanyahu stop the bombings.
