Meeting ‘Europe for the people’ - Thursday 4 April - Brussels


‘Europe for People’ is a meeting of European left-wing forces - political parties, trade unions and social movements - organised by the PVDA-PTB, AKEL (Cyprus), Levica (Slovenia) and the Party of the European Left, as part of the Belgian Presidency of the European Union and two months before the European elections.

The event will take place in Brussels, on Thursday 4 April 2024, from 6:00 pm to 9:30 pm.
Participants will be able to exchange opinions and concrete experiences on three themes:
(1) The cost of living, austerity and social and economic rights;
(2) Peace, security and international law;
(3) A socially just climate and energy transition. 

Confirmed speakers include Jeremy Corbyn (UK), Rudi Kennes (former GM worker/trade unionist, PVDA-PTB), Marc Botenga (MEP PTB), Stefanos Stefanou (AKEL), Lynn Boylan (Sinn Féin), Maha Abdallah (Palestine) and Tokozile Xasa (Ambassador South Africa). Simultaneous translation will be provided in FR, NL and EN.
