5 000 March at Counter-Summit to NATO in The Hague
We were there in full force, with 350 PVDA-PTB members making the trip to The Hague on the eve of the NATO summit. On the agenda for this summit? An outright declaration of war on our social security. At Trump’s demand, NATO countries have agreed to ramp up military spending to 5% of their GDP—amounting to tens of billions of euros annually. This madness can only be achieved by slashing our pensions and healthcare, fueling a dangerous escalation of militarization in Europe. Let’s invest in peace and social security, not war and arms industry profits.

International Forum for Peace
On Monday, June 23, ahead of the NATO summit in The Hague, PVDA-PTB General Secretary Peter Mertens spoke at the opening of the International Forum for Peace. Organized by several international anti-imperialist and pro-peace platforms, we brought together dozens of organizations. We discussed and strategized action on the genocide in Palestine, attacks on Iran, the war in Ukraine, and many other urgent issues.
No, we refuse to sacrifice our pensions, hospitals, and schools to fund your wars. We want investment in diplomacy, peace, and social security. To build peace, we must unite, cooperate, and organize. We must mobilize for common security based on multilateralism and the principles of the UN Charter.

For peace, for our pensions—stop militarization!
